Introduction

Discover the great sand dunes of the Sahara Desert during a 3-day desert tour from Marrakech and explore the spectacular landscapes of the high Atlas Mountains, the great canyons of Dades Valley and the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. You cross the dunes of Erg Chebbi by camel and sleep in a desert camp surrounded by high sand dunes, discover the unique architecture of the UNESCO Kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou and go through the big palm groves of Skoura and Todra.

Itinerary of the tour

Day 1 : Marrakech- Ait Benhaddou/ home hosted lunch - Ouarzazate – Rose valley – Dades valley.

After breakfast, you leave Marrakech heading towards the Mountains. You across today the highest road pass in Morocco known as Tichka pass 2260 meters high, surrounded by stunning views of the Mountains and Berber villages scattered along the road. Will stop for lunch in the Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou, a World Heritage Site, and visit this site where more than 20 famous films have been filmed. Afterwards, you continue to Dades; the secrets of the kasbah and the exuberant vegetation. From here you go to the Gorges of Dades through Kelaat Mgouna, a city that lies between the banks of the Dades. The path is marked by kasbahs and ksour and features of the ocher landscape, the red and mauve colors of rock formations, almond trees and vegetation green along the river, from this point, the road climbs for about 25 km through the rocky plateau to our destination.

Day 2 : Dades – The gorge of Todra - Merzouga desert camp.

After breakfast, proceed to Merzouga through the Gorges of Todra (the Largest in Morocco, where the climbers do their activities) after this visit you continue towards Erfoud through Tinjdad, and Jorf. You stop on the way to discover one of the old irrigation systems known as Khattaras. Then, drive to Erg chebbi, where you will find our camels that are waiting for a trip through the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will enjoy the ride and admire the sunset from the top of the dunes. Continue by camels to the camp where you enjoy the dinner and a local music played by the camp staff.

Day 3 : Merzouga - Anif – Dra valley- Marrakech.

If there is something that no one can miss, it is enjoying a sunrise in the desert, so this day you will get up early. After contemplating this moment, you will take the camels to get closer to a hotel where you can have a shower and breakfast. On the way back to Ouarzazate you will take a different route. Passing the oasis of Tafilalet and the town of Rissani (origin of the Alauit dynasty and ancient capital of the sultans’ Alaoui) arrive at Alnif, where you will take the road that crosses the mountain range of the Anti-Atlas amazed by the shapes and colors of these Mountains, will reach Tazarine (an important Berber village), N'kob and, finally, the Draa Valley and its surprising palm grove. In the afternoon, you will cross the Anti Atlas through the Tizi n Tnifift pass (1660 meters) in the direction of Ouarzazate. Stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before you continue your trip to Marrakech through the high Atlas and amazing Tichka pass 2260M high. Arrival to Marrakech check in to your hotel. “End of Tour” Meals: B
